Gut, dass die chaotischen Zustände bei der Bahn mich heute früh zum Umkehren gezwungen und mir einen außerplanmäßigen Homeoffice-Tag beschert haben. Sonst hätte ich diesen Kurzbesuch des Winters im heimischen Hochschwarzwald verpasst.

Aufgenommen auf dem Weg vom Bahnhof zur Wohnung auf seit 13 Jahren abgelaufenem Portra 400, entwickelt in der Mittagspause.

Printing things out is a luxury I don't afford myself often. It consumes natural resources and expense. Yet sometimes, it is the only way I can really get a solid handle on a tricky subject to a level of high mastery that is needed for whatever task I am undertaking. Also, there is something beautifully freeing about not reading from a screen of any kind. Not relying on electricity or digital technology. Not being stunted by interface limitations. No annoying notifications or any sound aside from the satisfying sounds of paper interaction. Making notes in the margins. Highlighting. It feels like real paper because it IS real paper.

A detailed paper on designing MOSFET-based load switches. On the white table before me is the crisply laser-printed document, stapled neatly in the top-left corner, folded open (not under) to the third page. I created a "one chip" #opensource #hardware #modular #diysynth TrebleSynth (https://www.github.com/profdc9/TrebleSynth) based on the #raspberrypi pico. Create subtractive and FM #synth instruments with 6 voice polyphony by connecting modules (VCO,ADSR,LFO,VCA,etc.) and #analog controls. Supports #MIDI #USB and #serial with built-in keyboard, expression pedals, many effects such as reverb/delay/flanger/chorus included. Cheap, commodity hardware and easy #diy through-hole assembly.

I love writing in my #paper notebook in the early hours, while it’s still dark and everyone is asleep. I used to turn up the brightness on my #laptop and use that to see by, but the white light was super harsh on my eyes.

Solution: create a red rectangle, and make it full screen. Instant night light that’s bright enough to write by! So simple, I love it. Here's a Dropbox link to the PNG I'm using. https://swiy.co/red-light
