Heyo! Time for a re-introduction here. I'm WinterKnight, formerly known as The_Asshat. I followed the Great InfoSec Migration here from Twitter a few years ago.
Outside of #infosec and #hacking, I entertain myself with #TTRPGs such as D&D and Paranoia, #boardgames such as Terraforming Mars, Scythe, and Gloomhaven. I also paint miniatures and other components which are used in games.
Outside of nerdery, I smoke meats and #BBQ so there may be some pictures of delicious things I cook from time to time. I tend to post about a myriad of things.

I'm originally from Central Illinois, but for ages now I've lived in the #StLouis area with @kpritch, our kid, and various #cats.
I started out as a #sysadmin, but I've done everything from #hardware to #devops.
Interests include (in no particular order) #linux, #fedora, #puppet, #gitlab, #vim, #opensource in general, #homelab (currently using #libvirt + #zfs, hopefully soon using #harvester), #comics, #beer, and #bbq.

I live in #Indianapolis, #Indiana with a #Dachshund, #Coonhound, #TuxedoCat, and a freshwater #Aquarium or five. I offset my #Jogging with #BBQ. I coach youth #Soccer and attend North United #Methodist Church.

So after moving my profile it is time for a small #introduction
First of all a big thank you to @jerry for taking care of this instance.
I was running my own Mastodon instance for about four or five years. As I decided to switch it off (it was a single user instance) I moved here to infosec.exchange and it feels like moving to the right neighborhood ๐
It is hard to discover new stuff on a small instance and as I am pretty much into #InfoSec (damn, I *love* this crap) it makes thanks to move here to find new content. Unfortunately my old toots are not being moved.
I am into security for about 25 years now and started with the "technical stuff". About 15 years ago I became data protection officer and discovered the technical and organizational stuff. Today I work in Information Security and Data Protection (technical-organizational measures, not the legal part) at a supplier for the German car industry.
I am still have a high affinity for IT: I rented 2 VPS at a hoster, 1 Desktop, 2 laptops (of course one with Kali), 1 media center, 1 home server and I keep 4 Raspberry PIs busy.
Besides that I am pretty much into #smarthome with #openHAB and I love playing #boardgames. I enjoy cooking and making #BBQ.

A new instance, a new #introduction.
Professionally, I am a PMP-certified (and formerly CSM-certified) #it project, portfolio, and operations leader who is starting the process of shifting gears into #infosec. My main interest is #grc as I have been involved with internal and consultant policy engagements, multi-silo IT governance, and project/portfolio/department risk assessments.
Personally, I enjoy #photography, am a recovering #mechanicalkeyboard nerd, partake in the occasional #bbq and #smoker session, view lots of things #scifi related, and enjoying various forms of #music in addition to pursuing interests in my bio.
Lastly, I think it important to mention that I have a very bad relationship with organized spirituality entities. I will immediately block any user I see in my feed who discusses their faith in a way that annoys me or makes me feel uncomfortable, and I might even engage any Scientology knobs I encounter. I realize your faith and devotion is strong, please respect my desire to avoid it.
