More stuff at WeirdLittleKeebs.com! A Masonry ergonomic keyboard, Stress fightpad (with 3D-printed case), and a tks4 macropad! #mechanicalkeyboard
An order of PCBs came in so I added kind of a lot of new #mechanicalkeyboard stuff to my Etsy shop! Some weird experiments, restocks of popular PCBs, and some new ones as well! weirdlittlekeebs.com
Huge thanks to Tamas at kbd.news for doing a review of my Lexicon keyboard! https://kbd.news/Lexicon-review-2590.html #mechanicalkeyboard
My Lexicon writing keyboard is now available under a (noncommercial) open license, so if you want to get PCBs made yourself or create derivatives, have at it. https://github.com/nekoewen/lexicon #mechanicalkeyboard
I tried making 3D-printed magnetic keycaps with magnetic covers that you can easily add icons to!

Mastodon doesn't want to let me upload the video, so check my Bluesky post for a demonstration of attaching the covers;

I learned the hard way that 304 stainless steel barely interacts with magnets, but I liked how these keycaps turned out enough to build a Reviung34 Split with them. #mechanicalkeyboard #keycaps
I went ahead and built another bright orange Sofle keyboard, this one with translucent orange keycaps! #mechanicalkeyboard https://www.etsy.com/listing/1858306205/orangetacular-sofle-split-keyboard
Now on WeirdLittleKeebs.com, a Banana Split Bluetooth macropad, a Bluetooth Humla keyboard, and a (wired) Dumbpad with a very nice 3D-printed case in white. #mechanicalkeyboard
I enjoyed building this Sofle with a 3D-printed case for an Etsy customer, who wanted a split keyboard with a number row. It has Gateron Oil King switches, OLED displays, two encoder knobs, and a tenting case. weirdlittlekeebs.com #mechanicalkeyboard
A customer asked me to build him a Crisco keyboard with Ambient Twilight switches! The Crisco is a 20-key board that provides full QWERTY via chords, and Ambient Twilights are premium Kailh Choc switches, and they're phenomenal. #mechanicalkeyboard
I see a silly keyboard, I have a powerful urge to build one. #mechanicalkeyboard

Been daydreaming about taking on my first #diy_electronics build. I'd like to make a clamshell, portable #palmtop of sorts running #Linux on #RaspberryPi, preferably with a #mechanicalkeyboard. It'd act as a simple, distraction-free word processor; I'd only be using #SublimeText and/or #emacs to write poetry, fiction, blog posts, and essays.
I've never done anything like this before. But after undertaking minor tech repairs/upgrades I want to give myself a challenge.
Caveat: I don't have soldering experience and I don't have a 3D printer, either. I reckon there's services where you can pay to get stuff printed for you?
I'm nervous to try soldering but I think it would be fun to learn and allow me to take on a lot of other projects.
I'm envisioning something like this: http://penkesu.computer/. Perhaps with bevels on the chassis so it's more comfortable to write.
Not sure what to tag this as lol.
Ty!
I forgot to do this, so here it is:
Hello #mastodon! I'm Luca, a #PhD student in #complexsystems at the University of Turin (#unito).
I mainly work in #genomics and #transcriptomics. My project involves the study of the #cancer #transportome, and its role in the overall #cellbiology.
I code in #python and #R, but i'm trying to (slowly) learn about #rustlang. I use #archlinux, btw.
I also play a ton of #boardgames and #videogames. I love #mechanicalkeyboard (s) and own a #corne myself.
I finished building a corne with 3D-printed KLP Lame ergonomic keycaps (and also tenting legs), and the whole thing turned out pretty great. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1820091006/pre-built-ergonomic-corne-light
Visit WeirdLittleKeebs for this and more keyboard weirdness and other goodies, 20% off for Black Friday! #mechanicalkeyboard
More stuff for WeirdLittleKeebs.com! A Crisco chording keyboard, pixel art clock, Miss Minutes Clock, and Reviung5 macropad! #clock #mechanicalkeyboard
The WeirdLittleKeebs Black Friday And Then Some Sale is now under way! (I remembered to set it up.) Now through the end of the month, everything at weirdlittlekeebs.com is 20% off. I have keyboards, keyboard parts, zines, stickers, and 3D printed goodies! #mechanicalkeyboard #3dprinting #anime
I’m made some tweaks to the colour layout on the #preonic #mechanicalkeyboard. I think this looks better. The purple letterboxing, it was just too much. But I didn’t stop tweaking colour layouts with just this board…. 🤔
The cute bread-themed keycaps I ordered came, so naturally I put them on a Lexicon. #mechanicalkeyboard #keycaps #kawaii
In case you were wondering what 800 DSA keycaps would look like.
I've added the Fourier and Reviung34 Split keyboards (and PCBs) to my offerings at WeirdLittleKeebs.com!
Thanks to kbd.news for an article about the Lexicon #mechanicalkeyboard! https://kbd.news/Lexicon-keyboard-2402.html
The time has come! I'm doing a soft launch of my Lexicon writing keyboard! #mechanicalkeyboard
The Lexicon has numerous shortcuts for outputting words, formatting commands, and extended punctuation. It really does result in a different typing experience! You can learn about how it works from the manual, which is on GitHub along with the firmware: https://github.com/nekoewen/lexicon
Welcome to my madness....
Here is my new improved gaming keyboard. I set it up in a way that it can be used for left-handed input paired with a mouse or to be used like a fight pad.
Oh, and I added media controls for good measure.
The progression of prototyping for my Lexicon keyboard: a Tanuki, a Soroka, a (failed) handwired keyboard, a Convolution, and finally a fully realized prototype. #mechanicalkeyboard
